The Story
Château Lestrille has been an independent family run winery since 1901. The Château is located at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers appellation in the small town of St. Germain du Puch between Libourne and Bordeaux. Following the philosophy that winemaking lies in the vineyard, sustainable grape growing practices are employed. Talented winemaker Estelle Roumage combines strict selection, with a tailor-made approach to vinification. Each parcel is vinified with minimal intervention to respect and optimize the characteristics of the vintage and terroir, with subtle oak ageing, creating charming wines with the utmost appeal. The estate is certified Haute Valeur Environmentale (HVE) Level 3.
Winemaking
The grapes were picked at optimum maturity and carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks followed by 22 days of maceration. The wine was then aged for 12 months in 2nd and 3rd fill French oak barrels. Bottling took place after 18 months.
