The Story
Château Lestrille has been an independent family run winery since 1901. The Château is located at the northern point of the Entre-deux-Mers appellation in the small town of St. Germain du Puch between Libourne and Bordeaux. Following the philosophy that winemaking lies in the vineyard, sustainable grape growing practices are employed. Talented winemaker Estelle Roumage combines strict selection, with a tailor-made approach to vinification. Each parcel is vinified with minimal intervention to respect and optimize the characteristics of the vintage and terroir, with subtle oak ageing, creating charming wines with the utmost appeal. The estate is certified Haute Valeur Environmentale (HVE) Level 3.
Winemaking
The grapes were picked at optimum maturity and carefully selected. The wine is cold settled and macerates for 24 hours in stainless steel tanks. It is then transferred to new and 1st fill French oak barrels for an integrated fermentation. In barrel the lees are regularly stirred for texture and complexity. Bottling took place in June of the following year.
Tasting Notes
An elegant and explosive nose of white peach, pear and exotic fruits. Concentrated apricot flavours on the palate are generously accented by spicy wood, vanilla and brioche and finishes with a long rich, toasty note. The wine is balanced by afresh cleansing citrus characteristic.
