2023 Chianti Orange
$17.95 x 12
Luca Maroni: 95
The Story
The terroir is characterized by a diverse range of soils types and altitudes. The fragmented bedrock is covered by a clay heavy top soil that forces the vines to struggle and yields remarkably concentrated fruit.
Winemaking
A selection of the best Sangiovese grapes are selected to uniquely express the soils of Tuscany. They are processed at a controlled temperature with a long maceration period. To this is added the practice of the so-called "GOVERNO ALL'USO TOSCANO", a traditional Tuscan winemaking technique, which brings additional richness and complexity to the wine.
Tasting Notes
This Chianti portrays a deep, ruby red colour with an intensely persistent fragrance of mature red fruit. The flavours echo the aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and currant. It’s a well-structured, smooth wine, with soft tannins and a pleasantly long, sweet finish.
