2021 Primula Veris
$49.95 x 6
The Story
Stefano di Blasi and Federico Cerelli are the geniuses behind such iconic Italian gems as Solaia and Tignanello, and they have been producing stunning wines throughout Tuscany for almost 20 years. Their mission with Primula Veris was to create an exclusive winer with limited production in which the land is able to speak through the wines.
Winemaking
The Incrocio Manzoni and Viognier grapes are hand-picked. Part of the vinification occurs in temperature controlled vessels while the rest of the grapes are vinified in Terracotta jars. The juice is left to macerate on the skins during fermentation. After fermentation is complete, the wine remains in stainless steel tanks for 6 months followed by at least 12 months in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes
The wine appears straw yellow with bright amber reflections from the skin contact. The nose and palate is packed with intoxicating citrus notes and sultry floral characteristics. Well balanced acidity and mouthfeel. Dry.
