THE PRODUCER & HISTORY

The story of Moillard-Grivot began in 1848 with the marriage of Symphorien Moillard and Marguerite Grivot, whose family owned vineyards in Burgundy. The Moillard family’s connection to the vineyards of Nuits-Saint-Georges reaches even further back, with local archives documenting vineyard ownership before the French Revolution. 

Based in Nuits-Saint-Georges in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, Moillard-Grivot has developed into one of Burgundy’s historic wine houses, building its reputation on traditional Burgundian winemaking and expertise in both vinification and ageing.

BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY

Chardonnay has an extraordinary affinity with Burgundy’s limestone and clay-rich soils. The region’s continental climate and varied terroirs allow the grape to combine ripe fruit and texture with the freshness, acidity and mineral character associated with classic white Burgundy.

VINEYARD & WINEMAKING

After harvest, the grapes are pneumatically pressed to gently extract the pure juice. Alcoholic fermentation takes place under carefully controlled temperatures to preserve freshness and aromatic character. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation, an important step that softens the natural acidity while bringing additional roundness, texture and complexity to the finished wine.

TASTING NOTES

A lightly golden Chardonnay with attractive emerald reflections. The nose is complex and expressive, showing floral and ripe fruit aromas with delicate hints of dried fruit. Generous and rounded on the palate, the wine combines ripe Chardonnay fruit with subtle mineral undertones. Balanced freshness keeps the palate lively, leading to an energetic, refreshing finish. A beautifully approachable expression of white Burgundy — generous, elegant and fresh, with classic Chardonnay character and Burgundian minerality.

FOOD PAIRING

An excellent match for grilled or roasted fish, salmon, shellfish, roast chicken and creamy poultry dishes, as well as mushroom dishes, soft cheeses and classic French cuisine.
