The Place
Moillard-Grivot was founded in 1848 with the marriage between Symphorien Moillard and Marguerite Grivot, the owner of a wine estate. Moillard-Grivot is an iconic wine house in the Côte de Nuits.
Winemaking
The chalky limestone vineyard is located in Rully in the Côte Chalonnaise. The grapes are mechanically harvested and undergo traditional vinification. The grapes are pressed immediately upon arrival at the winery, followed by a cool fermentation at 18°C in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wines are aged on fine lees for 6 to 10 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Tasting Notes
It pours a pale gold colour in the glass. On the nose, look for the intensity of citrus and floral notes. On the palate, enjoy its freshness, minerality, liveliness and slightly salty finish. This lesser-known grape variety is known for its freshness and is best enjoyed in its youth.
