The Place
Situated in one of France's most prestigious wine-growing regions, between Saint-Péray and Saint-Cyr-sur-le-Rhône, the estate benefits from a unique terroir. Since 1972, Clairmont has been located on the left bank of the Rhône, in the commune of Beaumont-Monteux. The magic happens thanks to a unique climate, with a blend of Mediterranean and continental influences. The vines enjoy warm summers and perfectly balanced rainfall. The mistral, the legendary north wind, plays its role as a natural guardian, protecting the vines and encouraging sustainable viticulture.
The commune of Crozes-Hermitage is renowned for its granite soils, which are ideal for drainage and their richness in mineral composition.
Winemaking
The grapes are processed using traditional techniques at the domaine. After fermentation, the wine spends 8 months in stainless steel vats to preserve the freshness and integrity of the fruit characteristics.
Tasting Notes
Vivid purple colour. Refreshing aromas of Bing cherries, wild strawberries, cassis, red licorice and thyme harmonize with a floral bouquet of acacia and violets. The juicy palate entices with ripe blackberries, black cherries, blueberries, olives and violets. The fruit-forward finish is long, yet subtle and well-balanced.
