The Place
Situated in Languedoc, Chateau-Veyran farms 90 hectares of vines with a focus on respecting the surrounding ecosystems and biodiversity. For more than 10 years, the vines have been worked sustainably using prophylactic methods and mechanical maintenance of the soil to improve the vineyards well-being. The vineyard is grown on a remarkable hillside terroirs of schists and limestone.
Winemaking
This cuvée comes from an old 4-hectare parcel that borders the winery, with some younger vines grown at the base of the hill. The deep, well-drained Mediterranean red clay soils yield unbelievably rich, ripe fruit. Traditional vinification at a controlled temperature (25°C) brings out the expression of the grape variety.
Tasting Notes
This delicious, tender wine has notes of black fruit, black currants, blackberries and green pepper, followed by a pleasant, refreshing palate.
