2020 Amarone della Valpolicella
$54.95 x 6
The Story
Zironda embodies the essence of Valpolicella, not only with wines of great quality, but also natural beauty and culture, the link between man and nature. A genuine and convivial land where a great culinary tradition has developed, accompanied by intense, full-bodied and structured wines.
Winemaking
The carefully selected grapes are put in small crates and dried in ventilated rooms for three months. When they reach the perfect grade of dryness, they are pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The fermentation lasts for 30 days and develops high alcohol contents. Overall, the grapes of this Amarone have been dried for 120 days and the wine aged for at least 18 months.
Tasting Notes
The drying of grapes prior to fermentation contributes deep intense garnet red colour and a persistent bouquet with hints of bitter cherries, prunes and sweet spices and flavours of dried cassis, figs and dates, fresh parsley, plum pudding, and sarsaparilla with a velvety, crisp, fruity medium body and a subtle, medium-long finish with touches of espresso bean and pickled radish with light oak flavour. An understated and pure Amarone that glides over the palate. Uncork the bottle at least two hours before serving and drink at 17-19C.
