THE PRODUCER

Founded in 1882 in the heart of Tuscany, Piccini is one of Italy's most established family-owned wine producers. Now guided by the fourth generation of the Piccini family, the winery has grown from a small Tuscan estate into an internationally recognized name, while maintaining its commitment to Italian winemaking traditions.

THE WINE

Collezione Privata, meaning Private Collection, is a distinctive Super Tuscan blend personally selected by Mario Piccini. Bearing his signature on every bottle, this wine represents his dedication to craftsmanship and quality. Combining traditional Sangiovese with international grape varieties, it offers a rich, contemporary expression of Tuscany. 

WINEMAKING

Following destemming and crushing, the grapes undergo temperaturecontrolled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in a combination of large oak barrels, barriques and tonneaux. This carefully managed maturation enhances complexity, softens the tannins and creates a beautifully balanced, full-bodied wine.

TASTING NOTES

Deep ruby red in colour, with an inviting bouquet of ripe blackberries, plums, dark chocolate and warm spices. The palate is rich and generous, revealing layers of ripe dark fruit, liquorice and subtle oak. Supple, velvety tannins lead to a long, elegant and satisfying finish.

FOOD PAIRING

An excellent companion to braised beef, slow-cooked stews, grilled steaks, roasted lamb, wild game and aged cheeses.
