The Story
This fourth generation Mendoza producer helped to develop the region as we know it today. Crotta winery, founded by the Italian Don José Eduardo Crotta, produces a portfolio of wines which pay tribute to the founding family’s Mediterranean roots. The Valle Verde Vineyard hugs the banks of the Mendoza River.
Winemaking
The Malbec grapes are manually picked and brought to the winery for a long 20 day maceration. It reaches a maximum temperature of 29°C degrees celc and then is lowered and maintained at 24°C. Malolactic fermentation then occurs naturally adding to the rich textural mouthfeel of the wine.
Tasting Notes
Crotta, being one of the families benchmark wines, has rich flavours of black cherry, roasted plum, dates and dried figs. Full bodied with a smooth finish.
