2023 Pinot Grigio
$15.95 x 12
The Place
The soil is mainly acidic metamorphic rocks (schists), but there is also the presence of calcareous rocks (dolomite, limestone). Most of the area is covered by glacial deposits making the soil rich in mineral content, permeable and is therefore ideal for the cultivation of the vineyards whose green leaves cover the gentle sun-lit slopes. In the Venezie the climate is influenced by the Alps, and the vineyards are exposed to the sunny slopes, protected from the damp cold of northern Europe.
Winemaking
Carefully selected whole clusters of Pinot Grigio undergo soft pressing just hours after harvesting. To preserve the purity of the grape variety and to achieve a crisp, fresh taste; the wine undergoes a slow fermentation in stainless steel vats at cold temperature.
Tasting Notes
Straw yellow in colour with greenish hues. It is a lighter bodied wine. Fresh fragrance of delicate white flowers followed by crisp, refreshing flavours of Granny Smith apple, and hints of Meyer lemon. Its crisp acidity balances well with the soft character to create a pleasantly easy to drink wine.
