THE DRINKS BUSINESS
THE STORY
The Serena family's winemaking tradition dates back to 1881 and today continues in Conegliano, in the heart of Veneto's Prosecco country. The Serena 1881 collection was launched to celebrate the company's 140th anniversary and represents a modern expression of the family's long sparkling-wine heritage. Today, Serena Wines is one of the leading producers of Prosecco DOC, exporting to more than 60 countries.
THE VINEYARD
The grapes are sourced from the Province of Treviso, one of the historic areas of Prosecco production in northeastern Italy. The blend is composed of 85% Glera and 15% Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio, combining Glera's characteristic freshness and fragrance with additional complexity from the complementary varieties.
WINEMAKING
Crafted in the classic fresh and aromatic style of Prosecco, Serena 1881 Brut is designed to preserve the delicate floral and fruit character of the grapes while developing a lively sparkling texture. With 8-10 g/L residual sugar, it sits firmly within the Brut category, offering a crisp, balanced profile rather than a sweeter Extra Dry style.
TASTING NOTES
Bright straw yellow with delicate green reflections and a lively perlage. The bouquet is fresh and expressive, showing fragrant acacia blossom and yellow apple. On the palate, the wine is crisp, fresh and harmonious, with juicy fruit, refreshing acidity and an elegant sparkling character leading to a clean, pleasant finish.
FOOD PAIRING
Perfect as an aperitif and an excellent partner for appetizers, shellfish and delicate fish dishes.
